Inclement Weather Policy
It is the responsibility of Members and Visitors –
to determine when it is safe to play golf in extreme heat, inclement weather and or when lightning is present. If skies appear threatening or the temperature reaches extreme levels, the Club recommends that players exit the course immediately.
The Club can take no responsibility for personal injury or damage to property caused by electrical storms.
In the event of extreme heat, the club advises golfers, caddies and spectators to adhere to the following WHS procedures:
- Be aware of the temperature at the current time.
- Please use a common sense approach to the importance of a round of golf when the temperature reaches extreme levels.
- Hydration and sun protection are advisable at all times.
In the event of lightning, the Club advises golfers, caddies and spectators to adhere to the following WHS procedures:
- Evacuate the course if skies look threatening or at the first sound of thunder
- In the event of lightning, seek shelter in structures such as the clubhouse
- If caught in the open seek shelter in a low lying area such as a bunker and crouch down
- Avoid seeking shelter under lone trees
- Seek shelter as far away from dams or ponds as possible
- When sheltering in the clubhouse avoid using the telephone
